Two people killed after boat capsizes near Warrnambool

Police have confirmed two people have died after their boat capsized near Warrnambool in Victoria's south west.

Emergency services were called to Lake Pertobe Road just after 10am following reports a boat capsized in rough seas, throwing two men into the water.

The Air Ambulance was sent to conduct a search from the air.

Two men, believed to be aged in their 70s were retrieved from the water, but were unresponsive.

Their deaths are being treated as non-suspicious, and police will prepare a report for the coroner.
