All passengers are believed to have escaped injury after two passenger planes reportedly collided at Los Angeles International Airport.

The incident occurred on a runway at LAX at 7.51pm local time (12.51pm AEST) when the arriving United Airlines Flight 1199 “bumped” the departing Alaska Airlines Flight 543, CBS LA reports.

The United service was reportedly arriving at Gate 73 at Terminal 7 when it came into contact with the other jet, which was departing from Gate 66.

The United Airlines flight from New Jersey was carrying 163 passengers and six crew, while 182 passengers and six crew were aboard the Alaska service.

There have been no reports of significant damage or injuries.
