Two young men charged over rape of 12-year-old

A 12-year-old girl has been raped by two men who took her from one of Sydney's northern beaches, police say.

It's alleged the girl was approached at Freshwater Beach on Thursday afternoon by the 25- and 22-year-olds, who then drove her to Brookvale and sexually assaulted her.

The older man has been charged with three counts and the younger a single count of aggravated sexual intercourse.

Both have been denied bail and will remain in custody ahead of an appearance at Central Local Court on Thursday.
