Two men wanted after bus driver assaulted in south-west Sydney

Police are searching for two men after a bus driver was assaulted in Sydney’s south-west overnight.

Emergency services were called to Beamish Street near North Parade in Campsie around 9.10pm yesterday following reports of an assault.

Police said two men approached the 37-year-old Kingsgrove bus driver who was sitting on a bench next to the parked bus.

One of the men allegedly punched the driver in the jaw after becoming abusive towards him.

The 37-year-old was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Canterbury Hospital.

The two men, who have been described as being of Pacific Islander or Maori appearance, were last seen walking south on Beamish Street.
