Two men shot in separate attacks across Western Sydney

A man suffered a gunshot wound to his leg only hours after another man presented himself to a Sydney hospital with two bullet wounds.

Police found a 38-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his right thigh after being called to Marian Street in Guildford just before 6am today.

The man was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

NSW Police said the man is yet to undergo surgery.

A crime scene has been established and a search of the area is being undertaken.

Meanwhile, an investigation is underway after another man took himself to Bankstown Hospital just after midnight suffering gunshot wounds.

The man was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

The 22-year-old appeared to have been shot in the abdomen and his left knee.

The man has since undergone surgery and is now in a stable condition.

Two crime scenes have been established at Bankstown Hospital and Antwerp Street, where a car was seized for forensic examination.

At this stage, the shootings are not believed to be linked.
