Two men hit with a hammer in violent home invasion on the Gold Coast

Police are searching for two men after a violent home invasion on the Gold Coast overnight.

Two people were injured when the offenders stormed a home on Pacific Avenue in Miami at around 9pm yesterday armed with a hammer and a piece of wood.

They made their way through the garage and threatened two men inside, before a woman walked in.

When the pair fled, one smashed the rear passenger window of a car at the home.

A 46-year-old man suffered a fractured arm, cuts, bruising and swelling to his face, head and upper body.

A 50-year-old man was also injured, suffering lacerations, swilling and bruising to his face, arms and upper body.

Both were taken to hospital.

A search is now underway to find the offenders.
