Two men dead, one woman in hospital after altercation at home in Melbourne’s north

Two men have died following an altercation between three people at a house in Westmeadows in Melbourne overnight.

Investigators believe a 49-year-old Shepparton man visited the home in Pascoe Street about 7.30pm, before a fight broke out between him, a 38-year-old male resident and a woman.

The 38-year-old is believed to have been shot before the fight spilled into the street.

One witness claims to have seen a man punching a woman.

Emergency crews arrived minutes later to find the man on the street had died from stab wounds.

The other man also died at the scene.

The cause of the altercation is still unknown.

Police and SES crews spent the evening collecting evidence from the property and neighbouring yards.

The was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital and is in a stable condition.

She has assisted police with their inquiries and is not expected to be charged.
