Two men have been charged following a dangerous car chase that resulted in a high-speed, head-on crash in Brisbane.

The pair were allegedly in a stolen Lexus when they drove onto the wrong side of the Centenary Highway at Sinnamon Park on Sunday night and hit another car.

Police said the driver of the second vehicle was lucky to escape serious injury.

The two men had earlier refused to stop when officers tried to pull them over in the Ipswich suburb of Goodna.

Police tracked them along the Ipswich Motorway and Centenary Motorway, trying to warn other drivers when the Lexus allegedly started speeding on the wrong side of the road.

The pair allegedly fled on foot after the crash but were caught nearby shortly after.

A 20-year-old man from Roma was charged on Monday with a string of offences including four counts of dangerous driving while affected by an intoxicating substance, two counts of unlawful possession of suspected property and a single count of obstructing police.

A 22-year-old Tivoli man was charged with the same offences.

They are expected to face Richlands Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
