Two women killed in crash in NSW Hunter region

Two women have been killed after their car collided with a truck in the NSW Hunter region.

Police are investigating the crash and last night spoke to the drivers of the truck and a ute.

The deceased women were travelling in a south-bound sedan when their vehicle struck the truck near the intersection of the New England Highway and the Golden Highway, near Singleton, yesterday evening.

The crash occurred near where two local teenagers died after their car hit a tree less than two weeks ago.

Yesterday's crash blocked the New England Highway for much of the evening and caused major traffic delays.
