Two dead in Calder Freeway multi-car crash

Two people have died and three others are injured in a multi-car crash near Bendigo.

Up to four cars and a truck are believed to have been involved in the fatal crash at Harcourt North, near Bendigo, last night.

Two people, who have not been identified, died at the scene of the crash on the Calder Freeway near Fogartys Gap Road.

Three people were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The death's bring the state's road toll to 72, compared to 77 this time last year.
