Majority of Twitter users undecided voters

Just 140 characters could change a vote of more than one fifth of Australian Twitter users.

According to Twitter research conducted by Galaxy, 22 per cent of Twitter users said they changed their voting intention after seeing something on the site.

The research also found two thirds of all users are split equally between coalition and Labor-leaning voters.

But when contrasted with non-Twitter users Greens-leaning users were represented at higher percentage.

The majority of users are undecided on how they will vote in the upcoming election.

The most important election issue to Twitter users is healthcare followed by jobs and unemployment.

* 76 pct use Twitter for gauging candidate and party views

* 22 pct changed vote based on something they saw on Twitter

* 36 pct reconsider views on a specific issue after using Twitter
