Turnbull rejects Labor renewable target

Labor's commitment for 50 per cent of Australia's energy to be sourced from renewables by 2030 is "reckless", Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has told parliament.

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten asked Mr Turnbull on Wednesday whether he would make a similar commitment to address climate change and create clean energy jobs.

"He is highlighting one of the most reckless proposals the Labor party has made," Mr Turnbull said.
