Turnbull backs Brandis over advice stoush
AAP
Malcolm Turnbull has declared confidence in Attorney-General George Brandis and Solicitor-General Justin Gleeson.
Labor has kept up an attack on Senator Brandis over Mr Gleeson's admission he was not consulted on changes to how government legal advice can be sought, contradicting what the attorney-general told parliament.
The prime minister told MPs on Wednesday he was satisfied with Senator Brandis' explanation of the consultation with Mr Gleeson and said both "distinguished barristers" had his confidence.
