Truck trapped under railway bridge

Witnesses say it is a miracle no one was killed, after a fully loaded auto transport truck crashed into the Arnott's Railway Bridge at North Strathfield in NSW this morning.

The driver was travelling along busy Parramatta Road this morning when he appeared to underestimate the truck's height – crashing into the bridge and becoming struck.

Tony Nicotra, who works at the nearby Café Migliore, told ninemsn that the driver appeared "shaken up".

"He was outside talking to police and looked really shaken. I'm just shocked at how he did not know the height of his own truck. It's pretty lucky because it could've cost lives."

One eastbound lane remains closed on Parramatta Road at Concord Road.
