Truck catches fire on Melbourne freeway

Traffic delays are expected on Melbourne's Monash Freeway after an early morning truck fire.

A tip truck, carrying rubbish on the outbound lanes, burst into flames just before 7am, an MFB spokesman said.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze and no one was injured.

The truck's fuel tank ruptured and crews need to dispose of 300 litres of fuel.
