Trapped SA duck rescued from BBQ

A wild duck that got itself trapped inside a barbecue flue in a shed at the back of an Adelaide home as been rescued by firefighters using a butterfly net.

The fire crew and RSPCA staff worked for about an hour to free the duck on Wednesday.

"Thankfully, the duck was unharmed," said Nicole Ely from the Metropolitan Fire Service.

"The home owners believe the duck may have been stuck in the flue for about one or two days, as two wild ducks kept sitting on the roof of the shed near the flue opening, presumably keeping their trapped friend company."
