Train kills pedestrian on Gold Coast

A person has died after being hit by a train on the Gold Coast.
Services have been suspended between Helensvale and Ormeau stations after the person was struck about a kilometre south of Coomera station about 7.45am (AEST), police say.
Commuters heading to Brisbane from the Gold Coast are facing delays of at least an hour.

Translink is preparing bus services to take commuters past the affected area.
