Significant delays after 'serious' West Gate Bridge crash

A serious collision involving a fuel tanker on the West Gate Freeway is causing significant delays.

All inbound lanes are currently closed on the West Gate Bridge, creating delays in both directions.

The collision occurred at 4.45pm this afternoon, no one was injured.

It's advised that citybound traffic should exit at the earliest opportunity.

Outbound lanes have been re-opened, however there are still significant delays.

A Department of Transport spokesperson said emergency services and Transurban are working to help clear the incident as quickly and safely as possible, and to assist motorists detouring around the closure.
