Toyota lands on top of parked car in Adelaide crash

9News has obtained vision of the moment a chain reaction car crash caused a Toyota sedan to mount a curb and land on top of a parked car at an Adelaide petrol station.

Remarkably, all drivers involved escaped unscathed.

A Toyota sedan, waiting to turn right off Hampstead Road in Broadview about 6pm yesterday, appeared to veer into oncoming traffic, causing a three-car crash.

"It was a really big bang," witness Mayur Chovatiya said. 

"I thought someone was hit badly, with a truck or something.

"It is pretty dangerous; someone could've lost his life over it."

The driver, a 35-year-old Salisbury Downs man, was issued a fine for failing to give way. 

The incident has prompted calls for increased vigilance and safety measures on the stretch of road, which locals claim is notorious for accidents.

"I think it's a sign we need to be more vigilant, especially when giving way," said John Kinga, a local resident.

"I don't want to stand here, with my family, anything like that," Chovatiya said.

"The government has to think about something."

The cars involved were towed from the scene.
