Body found in search for missing hiker north of Townsville

Police searching for a hiker who went missing in bushland north of Townsville earlier this month have found the body of a man.
The body was found about 10.30am today within the Paluma Range National Park.

The alarm was raised when 60-year-old Shane Holian did not meet a friend in Cairns after a camping trip.
His car was found at Jourama Falls at the north end of the park.
The body will be recovered from the park before it can be formally identified.
An extensive search and rescue operation has been underway for the man including SES, police and locals.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
