Woman, 24, charged over alleged murder of nine-year-old boy
A 24-year-old woman has been charged over the death of a nine-year-old boy in north Queensland overnight.
Emergency services were called to a Charles Street home at Kirwan in Townsville, about 7pm yesterday, following reports a boy was unresponsive.
Upon arrival, officers found the boy dead.

The woman was taken into custody at the scene without incident, police said.
Officials said they were known to each other but wouldn't reveal the exact nature of the relationship.
She has been charged with murder and is due before Townsville Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Investigations into the circumstances of the boy's death are continuing.
