Tourist destroyed 50 cars on rampage

A man who went on a destructive rampage through two Queensland car dealerships, smashing up more than 50 vehicles, has faced court.

Ben Ko was on holiday in Noosa, last week when he took a baseball bat to the vehicles in two separate caryards on Lionel Donovan Drive, reports the Courier Mail.

The owner of one of the dealerships, John Scott Madill, said his business looked like a bomb site after Ko's visit.

"It was devastating, he smashed mirrors, panels, windscreens, rear windscreens and windows," Mr Madill said.

He said he was "very disappointed".

Ko handed himself in to police on Saturday and has been charged with two counts of wilful damage.

His case will resume on August 4.
