Tourism's $76m bushfire recovery package

The federal government is providing an initial $76 million for a Tourism Recovery Package after the bushfires that devastated parts of Australia.

* Part of the government's $2 billion National Bushfire Recovery Fund

* $25 million for an international tourism marketing campaign to reinforce the message that Australia is safe and open for business to a global audience

* $20 million for a domestic campaign encouraging Australians to holiday in Australia, and support affected communities and regions

* $10 million to promote regional tourism events in bushfire-affected areas

* Additional $9.5 million for Tourism Australia's international media and travel trade hosting program

* $6.5 million to support businesses attending Tourism Australia's annual trade event, the Australian Tourism Exchange, in 2020

* $5 million for Australia's diplomatic network to promote the country being open for international education and exports as well as travel.
