Tom Hardy was upstaged at his own premiere today in London after deciding to bring his dog along as one of his dates.

Woody the dog became the man of the hour at the premiere of Hardy’s latest film Legend at London’s Leicester Square.

Hardy, 37, was attending the event with his wife, who was revealed to be heavily pregnant with their first child, a fact the couple had kept under wraps, reports the Los Angeles Times.

But despite Hardy being the star of the film and his wife’s baby bump revealing their exciting news, Woody, a Labrador cross, still managed to steal the limelight.

From chasing a pigeon down the blue carpet to jumping up onto Hardy mid-selfie with fans, the playful dog refused to let anyone forget he was there.

When asked, however, he stood for photos with Hardy and the cast and was quite well behaved.

Hardy plays the infamous gangster twins Ronnie and Reggie Kray in the film, based on the John Pearson book The Profession Of Violence: The Rise and Fall Of The Kray Twins.

The film opens in Australia on October 8.
