Toddler dies after falling into sewage pit in the NT

A two-year-old has died after falling into a sewage pit in the Northern Territory.
Police were called to Mt Liebig, west of Alice Springs, on Wednesday afternoon after being told of the incident.
The child was treated at the scene and received CPR before being taken to the Women's and Children's Hospital in Adelaide, in a critical but stable condition.

The toddler died yesterday, police confirmed.
An investigation is underway and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
