Since the pandemic, Aussies have shown that a hybrid work/life arrangement is definitely achievable.

In fact, ever since international borders reopened, people have taken that luxury of not having to go into the office one step further and implemented "working from roam" into their lives.

This is where rather than saving all your annual leave to go on an overseas holiday, you just let it keep building and still go on that holiday while completing your regular office hours.

But as appealing as this kind of luxury lifestyle is, Australian Traveller's Quentin Long said there are a couple of things you need to plan ahead of time.

"The first thing is talk to your employer, is this kind of arrangement going to work for them and you?" he said.

Timezones are another big factor to consider and you need to be realistic about whether you are willing to get up in the middle of the night to start your shift if you are on the opposite side of the world.

"What deadlines do you have and when can you plug in and plug out? Make sure you have access to WiFi when you need it," Quentin said.

He said visas are another really important thing to think about and you need to know what is and isn't allowed in the country you visit.

"If you are on a tourism visa that is okay, but think about the ramifications if you overstay," he said.

"Think about extending travel insurance, a Plan B for natural disasters, political upheaval depending where you are in the world and think about if I need to get back home quickly, how can I do that if I need to."
