Vanessa Amorosi is marking 25 years since she burst onto the scene with her debut album, celebrating with a huge run of shows where she'll be performing all her biggest hits.

The Power spawned hits including Have A Look, Shine and the banger, Absolutely Everybody, which is still considered a national celebratory anthem to this day.

"They're going to be small, intimate venues, which I'm really looking forward to because I've grown up with everybody, but the sound is going to be massive, so get ready for a huge party," Vanessa told Today.

"And we'll change the set in between most shows because people are requesting other songs like Mr Mysterious and Perfect and then we'll go back to the very beginning, just sharing our experiences and stories behind those songs and what was happening in my life at the time."

In a cut-throat music industry, where artists can come and go in the blink of an eye - Vanessa has managed to stay relevant and maintain a huge fanbase with her "guitar-like timbre" and ability to carry a variety of vocal ranges while on stage.

But she revealed there is a very simple reason she still loves performing to live audiences so much.

"For me, nothing's changed, the goal is still the same - to get on a stage and just sing loud, aggressive, a high chops feel," she said.

"I started my journey wanting to show everybody I was a singer and I was writing these songs to demonstrate a vehicle that I had and and I'm still kind of doing that, now, I get on that stage and I leave it like it's my last one."

In a special 60 Minutes report, Vanessa shared what was going on in her personal life, including strained relationships with her parents.
