A Queensland miner has gone viral on TikTok after buying a self-described "crack den" to flip and resell.

Nat Redgrave bought the Charters Towers property, southwest of Townsville, for just $60,000 after his builder mate tipped him off about several similar dwellings in the area.

But when he saw (and smelt) the dilapidated mess, Nat knew he had his work cut out for him.

"It had a smell that would outlast religion," Nat told Today.

But while most others would see the property as a sure knock-down, Nat persevered and over the past four weeks has stripped the yard, pulled up the flooring and installed new windows.

"We're hoping to put it on the market and hopefully it's going to be on for around the $240,000 mark, something affordable for a nice young family," he said.

Nat has been posting updates on TikTok and has amassed a wide following of people keen to see his humorous take on what he finds in the dump and how he goes about fixing it.

"I don't think I'm that famous or that cool. I'm just a fella who renovated a house and threw it on TikTok because my builder was late grabbing coffees," he said.
