Queensland parents woken in middle of night to intruders in bedroom
A Queensland father has jumped into action when a group of young criminals broke into his home in the middle of the night.
In the early hours of August 11, Clint Luck told Today he was woken by the sound of the bedroom door at his Bribie Island home opening as someone walked in and started rifling through he and his wife's drawers and belongings.
"I thought it was my nephew at first and I called out his name, then a voice I didn't recognise said 'ahh sh-t, sorry' and I sprung into action," Clint said.

"I just had to chase this guy and get him out of the house to protect my family."
Clint said he didn't have time to think about whether these intruders were armed or not and he yelled out to his wife to call the police as he chased them out.
'It was pretty scary, I was woken to Clint yelling and chasing them, little did we know there was four of them in our home while our three kids were sleeping," Clint's wife Heidi said.
"We had my mother-in-law and nephew staying with us as well so I just called Triple Zero as soon as I could."

Heidi said it was nerve-wracking but police and the dog squad arrived within 15 minutes and once the dogs picked up the scent they were able to track down three of the four alleged intruders.
"You wake up every morning and you see this type of thing on the TV and you wonder why it keeps happening and what we can do to fix the problem," Clint said.
"We need action taken otherwise this type of thing is going to keep happening."
