Emotional Porter Davis customer's 'life on hold' following builder collapse
Customers of the now defunct Porter Davis building company have been forced to put their lives on hold as the fallout from the construction company's collapse continues.
Maria Tupou was brought to tears speaking about just how much her family's life has been impacted in the aftermath, with the Melbourne woman revealing she's had to delay trying for another baby because of it.
"We are living with my mother at the moment," Maria told Today.

"And then we've also pushed back our plans to have another child as well just because we're stuck in that limbo."
Maria said she had to seek out information herself about what the next step would be after Porter Davis went under and thankfully, when she reached out to Simonds Homes, they handed her a lifeline.
"Simonds have actually held our hands throughout the whole process and actually waiving our five per cent fee just so that we can start building again," she said.
"Since we raised the claim (about Porter Davis) we were told 90 days, even if we're eligible for our refund - so we haven't even been told we're getting it back yet."

After the Victorian government announced they'd step in and assist those like Maria's family who have been affected by the Porter Davis collapse, she told Today they were still waiting to see if anything would happen.
"We don't know if we're ever going to see it, we're still waiting," she said.
"Since the government had said they were helping out it's been a mess, no-one knows what's going on, we haven't been told anything, haven't received any emails - we've had to source the information ourselves."
