Karl tours flood-devastated townships from the sky as picture of devastation emerges

Today host Karl Stefanovic has taken to the skies to witness first hand the devastation floodwaters have left across the NSW Far North Coast.

Flying over Lismore, almost every building in an industrial area as well as homes were inundated with water.

LIVE UPDATES: Rain bomb headed south as states battle floods

"So many homes inundated in water - You can see why it was such a dramatic 24 hours for the people here," Karl said as he showed viewers just how destructive this weather event has been.

"The township of Coraki, 25km south of Lismore, is cut off. There is no way into the town apart from the air.

"All roads leading in and out are submerged. This township is cut off. It is isolated. It is going to be some time before it's cleared."
