Today host's war against council 'bureaucracy and red tape'
Karl Stefanovic is on a rampage this week, calling out local councils and their "unfair" tactics targeting everyday Aussies.
From the ongoing paid parking battle on the Gold Coast's sunny beaches, to a Sydney cafe's outdoor seating being scrapped after seven years, it seems nowhere is safe.
"As you know, I am sick of hard-working Aussies getting bogged down in bureaucracy and wrangled by red tape," the Today host told viewers this morning.

"If you've got a problem with your local council, I'm happy to expose them on national TV day in, day out.
Australian motorbiking legend, Daniel 'Chucky' Sanders and his family have held races, fundraisers and trail rides on their property in Victoria's Yarra Valley for more than 40 years.
But now, seemingly out of nowhere, the local rangers are shutting them down and the move has left Karl's "blood boiling".
"It's been a bit of a struggle, in 2023 they gave us a notice to provide them with evidence as to why it should remain open, otherwise they would close it down," Sanders told Today.
"The family farm has been operating since 1976 and we've been holding motorbike events since 1982, so we had 41 years evidence and we showed the shire and the council this, but unfortunately it wasn't enough."
In July, council sent the family a letter saying they did not accept the evidence provided and the public rides and charity events could no longer continue.

"It's a bit of a shock to the community because a lot of kids ride there, we have a lot of events and it's a really enjoyable property," Sanders said.
"We're just an apple farm and we open the gates up to the to the local races, the clubs and we try to give back to the community."
Sanders is the 2025 Dakar Rally champion as well as winner of multiple Enduro championships.
And he said he has his family farm and its dirt tracks to thank for igniting that passion since he was 13.
"If I didn't have that farm and property and grew up there, there's no way I would be where I am today," he said.
