'Are Sydney drivers just thicker?': Another oversized truck causes traffic chaos

Karl Stefanovic has made a controversial call after another oversized truck caused traffic chaos in the Sydney Harbour Tunnel this morning.

Southbound traffic was impacted with authorities warning drivers to expect lengthy delays on the way into work.

The incident is one of many the major Sydney roadway has encountered over the past few weeks and Karl had something to say about it.

"There's something happening in NSW that makes me think that people are a bit thick," the Queensland-bred Today host said.

"It's not a State of Origin thing, it's like every third day, someone drives through the tunnel with a truck that's too tall.

"Is it just me from outside of NSW that sees that as a little funny? You would think they would know."

But turns out it isn't just Karl, with NSW-born Brooke Boney noticing how frequently it happens.

"I saw one yesterday in real life, the guy was standing next to it like Oh no!'" she said, mimicking his actions.
