An incredible rescue has been caught on camera in Queensland with footage showing the moment a teenager was swept off rocks, into the sea.

The video shows Jacob Reed's friends desperately trying to rescue him from danger with him thankfully living to share his story with Today.

"As soon as I was in the water, I just felt this big adrenaline rush, but then the adrenaline wore off and I started to fatigue," Jacob said.

Jacob's friend Aiden was filming with his phone when he fell in the water and while it seemed amusing at first - he knew his mate was in trouble when the waves swallowed him up a second time.

"We just tried to get him up on that gaff pole and hold on to it, but it was just a bit slippery and he just kept falling down," Aiden said

"The currents there are pretty hectic, so I think that was also playing a big part in the way it pushes the swell up those rocks."

Jacob and Aiden's friend Sam also rushed in to try and help get him out of the water and once they were finally back on dry ground, they had a laugh and assessed all the cuts and bruises jacob endured.

The boys said their parents couldn't believe what happebed and were still not able to bring themselves to look at the footage.

"The only thing going through our mind was to do anything we could to get him out and get him to safety," Sam said.
