Alex struggles in studio as east coast temperatures plummet
Winter is well and truly upon us with an icy polar blast sweeping up from the south.
Australia's east coast is copping the worst of it and even with the warm lights of the Today studios in North Sydney, Alex Cullen was struggling with the cold weather.
"It's so cold, it's cold, it's so cold - I'm freezing," he said rugged up in a warm blanket.

The temperature in Sydney this morning was 5C, but felt more like 2C and in Melbourne it was even lower with the mercury sitting at just 3C, but feeling more like 0C for anyone brave enough to venture outside.
Brisbane fared a little better, but a low temperature of 9C, feeling more like 6C was enough to make those in the Sunshine State also struggle.
This polar blast is thanks to a cold air mass that's hovering around the eastern states and meteorologists warn the dry and cold conditions are sticking around, so that means many parts will see more frost, particularly in regional areas.
