Sweet message brings David Campbell to tears
His birthday falls on the weekend, but that wasn't going to stop the Today Extra team celebrating the wonderful David Campbell turning the big 50.
From humble beginnings in Adelaide to becoming one of the most cherished and talented stars on stage and television, there were more than a few big names who wanted to wish the Today Extra host the very best on his special day.
"This is just a tiny little taste of the universal love and adoration there is for you, David," co-host Sylvia Jeffreys said.

"You deserve it all because you are an exceptional person, you are wonderful, we adore you and working with you is the joy of my career."
Among those lucky to call DC a friend and who wanted to wish him a happy birthday was rock legend Alice Cooper, who wrote him a little song.
David's beloved family also made an appearance to celebrate the milestone.
"Happy birthday, Dad. I love you. I love you even though you are very old," David's son Leo said.
His wife Lisa also sent her love to him from Europe.
"Happy birthday, Campbell. I love you so much and I'm so sorry I have travelled to Germany on your birthday, but it will give you something to complain about to your next wife," she laughed.

David was overwhelmed with the outpouring of love in the above video, wiping tears from his eyes as he thanked his co-host and production team for the lovely surprise.
"I'm very, very thrilled - thank you all for this," he gushed.
