The very much anticipated sequel for the '90s film Clueless has been scrapped with a TV series which would have seen Alicia Silverstone return as her character, Cher Horowitz, no longer happening.

Production was supposed to begin later this month and this is the second Clueless sequel project to be put in the bin.

Third time could be the charm, but it's a wait and see on that one for now.

Going ahead however, is a film reboot of the Miami Vice TV series, confirmed with Austin Butler and Michael B Jordan starring.

Miami Vice '85 will see undercover cops, James Crockett (Butler) and Ricardo Tubbs (Jordan) fighting corruption across Miami in the mid '80s.

F1 and Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski is at the helm and production begins later this year with an August 2027 release date scheduled.

It's been the talk of the entertainment industry, the US$155 billion mergerbetween Paramount Studios and Warner Bros.

After months of negotiations, both parties shareholders have given the green light for it to go ahead, but in a major development over night, some big name stars have signed a petition calling for the merger to be scrapped.

Robert De Niro, Sofia Coppola and Holly Hunter join Ben Stiler, Glenn Close, Pedro Pascal and over 4000 other industry professionals concerned over job losses and fewer productions .

Finally, after winning the mirrorball trophy for US Dancing With The Stars, Wildlife Warrior, Robert Irwin is set to put his dancing shoes back on for a spin-off project.

Currently on the road performing the US Dancing With The Stars live stage show, the 22-year-old will be hosting The Next Star, a series which is looking for a new, up and coming dancer to join US Dancing With The Stars.

The Next Star is set to premiere in July and we will all be watching our Aussie sensation in his new hosting gig.
