'I can't fathom it': Today team clash over controversial AFL decision
The AFL has green-lit a controversial call that denied Melbourne a match-winning goal in their clash with Carlton on Saturday.
Demons midfielder Christina Petracca kicked for goal from long-range in the final moments of Saturday's match, but it was ultimately ruled touched on the line by the goal umpire after the score review came back inconclusive.
"How was Christian's goal not a goal against Carlton? I can't fathom it," a miffed Karl Stefanovic asked.

And while Today sports presenter Alex Cullen agreed it was in fact touched, Karl wasn't having it.
"It wasn't touched - it was inconclusive," Karl reaffirmed.
But even with Sarah Abo trying to play mediator and saying it was close - she did have to watch it back again more closely - Karl was determined to die on that hill.
"It was touched, I did see it and it was touched by his fingertips," Alex insisted.
"It could have gone either way and this time it went Carlton's way - it never normally does, but this time it did."

"Never normally goes Carlton's way?! Come off it, Melbourne should have won that game," Karl argued.
"You can't see it being touched, it should have been a goal."
But when Petracca himself appeared on the show later on, he said he thought it should have been a goal - although he admitted his bias.
"It was a long wait, to be honest, it felt like an hour but was probably only a couple of minutes," he said of the pending decision on the night.
"But it is what it is and we have to move on."
