Australia remembers the Bali bombings 20 years on
Today marks the 20th anniversary of the devastating Bali bombings.
It was one of the darkest chapters in Australia's history.
Among the 202 people who were killed on that horrible night, 88 Australians were included.

Two hundred and two people were killed; 88 Australians, 38 Indonesians, 24 Britons, seven Americans and 30 others from a number of European countries. New Zealand, Brazil, Canada and Japan also lost citizens, as did South Africa, South Korea and Ecuador. AP

These were husbands, wives, daughters and sons and the grief is still overwhelming for many families.
Today their memory will be honoured at services, both in Australia and overseas, as we reflect on all that was lost.
