Australia's best ice cream revealed
A Gold Coast ice-creamery has taken out top honours for best iced confectionery at the Australian Grand Dairy Awards.
Maggie Bekkara created the chocolate whip recipe, sold at Southport's Standard Market Company, and told Today passion, practice and Italian excellence is the secret to her success.
But Maggie revealed even though chocolate whip, with 70 per cent Lindt chocolate was announced the winner, a couple of her other flavours are actually more popular with customers.

"We do have a couple of more popular ones which are triple pistachio, chocolate, Queensland mango - which was the best in Queensland," she said.
"We have a few of them which the customers get really upset if we don't have in the cabinet."
In the spirit of this morning's segment, Today news and entertainment presenter Brooke Boney treated her co-hosts to some ice cream in the studio.
But Karl, who is on a diet, did not appreciate her thoughtful efforts.
"I don't know how many times I've got to tell you, the diet," he said as Brooke, Sarah and Alex enjoyed their iced treats.
