Australia Post under fire after staffer 'faking' delivery attempt
Australia Post's delivery service is under fire this morning after video emerged of a worker appearing to knock once before immediately turning around and failing to deliver a package.
The doorbell footage from a Sydney home has gone viral since it was posted online, with many claiming the same thing has been happening to them.
But with the postal service expected this year to exceed the 103 million parcels they delivered during the 2024 holiday season, marketing executive, Dee Madigan told Today they are relying on Christmas casuals to deliver a bulk of the items.

"In Australia Post's defence, they have to put on 3000 casuals over Christmas," she said.
"Now we're in the lowest unemployment in ages, so can you imagine the calibre of casuals they're getting?
"But I feel like there's not a lot they can do unless we all start writing letters so they can employ the force that they are used to - this is just going to happen every Christmas."

Australia Post have since responded to this incident, with a spokesperson telling Today: "We take our responsibility to deliver for the community and customers seriously and have strict protocols for delivering letters and parcels in place.
"Customers with concerns about their delivery are encouraged to contact us directly so we can investigate."
