Aussie father and son complete dizzying world record in glider
A South Australian father and son have taken a world record to dizzying new heights after completing 45 loops in a glider.
David and Max Scutchings started planning for their epic feat a year ago, undergoing several risk assessments and completing multiple practice flights to ensure they were prepared for the task.
"Then a couple of months ago, we went up for another training flight and actually equalled the record of 24," David told Today.

"So at that point, we knew we were reasonably on track to be able to do it, then off we went on Sunday and smashed out 45."
David and Max revealed it was actually Max's aunt who came up with the idea to complete the challenge, but it wasn't just for bragging rights.

"I've been a police officer with SAPOL for over 30 years now and in my role, I'm very aware of the very good job that South Australia Police Legacy do to support our police officers and their families," David said.
"So we chose that charity to support as part of this Guinness World Record attempt."
