The gold Logie nominations dropped overnight, with two Nine personalities up for the top gong this year.

Hamish Blake has been nominated again for his role hosting Lego Masters, after taking honours for the show in 2022, while Karl's former counterpart and A Current Affair host, Ally Langdon, has been nominated for the first time.

"I'm very overwhelmed by this, I don't think it's quite sunk in yet," Ally told Karl and Sarah.

In 2024, Ally took home the silver Logie for Best News or Public Affairs Presenter for her work on A Current Affair after taking over hosting duties for the program from Tracy Grimshaw the year prior.

And with her name now in the running for the coveted gold Logie, Ally joked she had one reason for the accomplishment.

"This is your first gold Logie Ally, is it true that once you ditch Karl, that's when you really start going places?" Karl's current Today co-host, Sarah Abo asked.

"You know what, the shackles were off and there's this sense of freedom like I can just scale the heights - that's all I had to do," Ally laughed.

Ally and Hamish are up against a female-heavy line-up of talented stars, including channel Ten's Julia Morris and Poh Ling Yeow, channel Seven's Sonia Krueger and Lynne McGranger and ABC's Lisa Millar this year.

Ally has been recognised further as a nominee in the Ray Martin Award for Most Popular News or Public Affairs Reporter.
