TODAY Show host’s shocking secret talent revealed

The head-turning hidden talent of TODAY Show host Brenton Ragless has come to light this morning.

It turns out that Ragless’ dulcet news-reading tones extend to a selection of vocal special effects, comparable with the famed Man of 10,000 Voices, Michael Winslow.

Filling in for Karl Stefanovic, the Adelaide journalist showed off a series of sound effects at the desk, including a firetruck and the opening of a soft drink can - a skill he said came in handy on airplanes.

“The best way (the can) sound works, is you ask for beer cans on a flight. It sounds like you’re having beer can after beer can,” he said.

Ragless also showed off a realistic baby crying impression, inspired by his eight-week -old baby at home.

“Because one baby isn’t enough,” co-host Sylvia Jeffreys joked.

Ragless said Winslow was a great inspiration for his impressive party trick.

“I met Winslow in Adelaide…he was quite the inspiration to me as a kid. And growing up in the 1980s, Police Academy was also great inspiration.”
