Three-year-old boy killed in Sunshine Coast crash
A three-year-old boy has died in a Queensland hospital following a two vehicle crash on the Sunshine Coast yesterday that seriously injured multiple people and children.
Police believe the two vehicles, travelling in opposite directions on the Sunshine Motorway through Coolum Beach, collided head-on around 2.15pm Monday May 30.
The collision left the young boy with critical injuries and he was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

This morning, police confirmed the boy did not survive the crash.
"The three-year-old boy was a passenger in a Mitsubishi Pajero and was taken Sunshine Coast University Hospital, however passed away from injuries this morning," police said in a statement.
The driver of the Pajero, a 36-year-old man and a three-year-old girl were also taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The occupants of the other vehicle, a 38-year-old woman, a four-year-old girl and 12-year-old girl also received medical treatment and were considered seriously injured but stable.
Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed the woman had serious pelvic injuries while the 12-year-old sustained an arm injury and had abdominal, back and shoulder pain.

Senior operations supervisor Nick Haug said multiple ambulance resources were called to the "significant" crash.
"It took quite a few resources, 11 vehicles responded to this incident including flight crew paramedics, critical care paramedics, supervisors and acuity members as well," he said.
Haug said a third vehicle narrowly avoided the crash, swerving away from the collision.
"There was one uninjured male in that vehicle," he said.
"The other two vehicles were involved in a head on collision and we assessed six patients.
"Certainly a significant incident because four of the patients were children."
The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating the crash and are urging for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
