Sole survivor of horrific car crash which claimed the lives of three teens released from hospital

The sole survivor of a car crash which killed three Victorian teenagers has been released from hospital.

Jake Mitchell, 19, suffered a fractured cheekbone when the car he was travelling in lost control and slammed into a tree at Avonsleigh, just outside Melbourne, about 5.20pm yesterday.

The two female passengers, 17-year-old Felisha Allen and Sharn Walker, both died instantly.

The 18-year-old driver, Jason Breakwell, died a short time later.

The group were returning from the movies when the apprentice electrician lost control of the car.

Police allege he was speeding.

The only passenger who would survive the violent crash, Mr Mitchell alerted emergency services on his mobile phone as nearby residents rushed to help.

But there was little they could do.

Friends and family visited the site today to pay tribute to their fallen loved ones.

“It’s horrible, the feeling doesn’t go away – constantly waking up, they’re still gone,” friend Tayler Kennedy said.

Another urged for young drivers to take care on the roads.

“Everyone just needs to take it steady and go by the road rules, it’s unbelievable,” she said.
