Three men are due to face court on drugs charges after police seized nearly 300 cannabis plants during raids in Sydney's south and southwest.

Officers from Strike Force Zambesi, which was established in 2011 to target the hydroponic cultivation of cannabis in the southwest region, raided eight homes on Tuesday suspected of being used to grow cannabis.

Police found 294 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of more than $765,000.
