Three horses die after being struck by cars in country NSW

Three horses have died after being hit by two cars in Jaspers Brush, south of Sydney.

About 10.30pm last night, a blue Nissan 4WD travelling south on the Princes Highway hit two horses standing in the southbound lane.

A black Nissan travelling behind the first car then hit a third horse also standing in the southbound lane.

The first two horses died at the scene and the third was later euthanised by a local vet.

Both vehicles had major damage and had to be towed from the scene.

The four people in the two cars were taken to Shoalhaven Hospital with minor injuries.
