Three cars set alight in Sydney arson attack

More than 20 residents of a Penrith apartment block had to be evacuated after three cars were set alight overnight.
Firefighters were called to the unit block about 2.20am and were forced to evacuate around 25 residents.
There were no injuries, however the building suffered extensive smoke damage.
Inspector Kernin Lambert from NSW Fire & Rescue said extinguishing the blaze was made difficult by limited access to the locked garage.
“A very, very intense fire as it was located in a concrete basement. It was intense heat, intense flames, and very thick smoke being produced,” he said.
Penrith police are investigating the blaze.
