Three brothers jailed together over violent brawl

Three brothers from a western Sydney family have today been jailed over a vicious brawl outside a cinema complex in Westfield Parramatta.

One of the siblings received a lengthy prison term - sentenced over his involvement in a brutal assault at a Haymarket karaoke bar just weeks prior.

The wild all-in brawl erupted in a darkened room at Dynasty Karaoke Bar on June 25 last year.

CCTV shows two unwelcome visitors crashing the event, before one's backed into a corner.

Outnumbered, he's then punched and kicked by up to 10 men.

Scrambling to protect himself, the victim finally finds the door and runs.

Security escort the pair from the premises but the group's not done.

Giving chase, they take-off down Dixon Street to confront the pair one more time.

Left with facial bruising and a fractured jaw, police are then called in.

Among this group is 21-year-old Mohamed Al-Shamery who was the victim of a targeted shooting at Merrylands last year.

Alongside him, twin brother Adel, and their mate Ali Younes.

Today, the men faced court over the vicious attack with the Al-Shamery twins joined by older brother Abdelrahman.

The siblings are also convicted over a similar brawl at Westfield Parramatta just months after the karaoke attack.

Sentences for these separate, brutal assaults ranged from two to 3.5 years.

Mr Younes and the three Al Shamery brothers all launched immediate appeals and were granted bail ahead of fighting their prison terms.

"They except they made a mistake, that was unfortunately a mistake they now have to live with,” lawyer Ahmed Dib said.
